Yesterday, ethical search engine Everyclick and advertising giants Clear Channel Outdoor launched the 2009 â??Everyclick Charities Challengeâ??, a competition which encourages charities to boost their fundraising efforts through competing to win the largest charity competition prize in the UK - a high-profile advertising campaign across 1,500 Clear Channel Outdoor sites.Charities can register now for the challenge at www.everyclick.com/awards, where they will be placed in one of three charity categories (small, medium or large). The six month challenge period starts on 15 October and ends on 31 March 2009.Throughout this time Everyclick will keep a tally of how much is being raised for each charity via their supportersâ?? online fundraising. Five charities within each category will then be shortlisted based upon the amount of money raised through Everyclick during the competition period, as a proportion of each charities declared income and the amount raised per supporter. The finalists will then be judged by a panel of independent sector experts who will select three category winners â?? and an overall winner â?? who will receive the prize of a free national outdoor advertising campaign; the other category winners will receive free advertising on Everyclick. The panel will judge the entrants on money raised, and the innovative and imaginative ways they have encouraged their supporters to use Everyclick.Polly Gowers, Founder of Everyclick said: â??This is one of the largest and most exciting competitions available to UK charities, offering them a chance to win an unprecedented amount of national exposure, engage supporters and source an additional revenue stream. We want charities of all sizes to rise to the challenge and encourage their staff, corporate partners, donors and fundraisers to use Everyclickâ??s growing range of online fundraising tools as an additional and sustainable revenue stream.â??Charities Challenge is a way for us to encourage and promote innovative marketing in the Third Sector, and at the same time it reflects Everyclickâ??s drive to get the general public to incorporate fundraising into their everyday lives. In its first year, the Charities Challenge saw over 550 charities compete to win this superb prize, and we are looking forward to more entries this year.â??Commenting on the competition, Pip Hainsworth, Marketing Director of Clear Channel Outdoor said: â??We are proud of our partnership with Everyclick and delighted to be able to help with this worthwhile initiativeâ??Winners will be announced in May 2009.www.everyclick.com/awards
