The sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing waltzes back onto our screens on September 20th, with 16 stars battling it out. Among them, former S Clubber Rachel Stevens hopes to show us how, while political journalist John Sargeant will be working on his spin and rugby star Austin Healey needs to prove he doesnâ??t have two left feet. If the sight of stars learning their steps inspires you to dig out your dancing shoes, then why not take an learn-to-dance holiday? Rio de Janeiro specialist Jingando Holidays offers exactly that â?? but with some much-needed volunteering work, plus plenty of partying, included as well. Starting from under £1,000 pp (excl. flights), Jingandoâ??s two-week â??Festa Packagesâ?? combine eight hours of dance lessons â?? in the Samba and Forró styles at an acclaimed dance school â?? with volunteering on Make Favela Art, a landmark initiative involving painting the exteriors of homes in a hillside shantytown. And by night, the group, led by Jingandoâ??s knowledgable and very hip staff, will root out the best blocos, bars and street parties. Departing 20 December 2008, the 14-night New Yearâ??s Festa Package costs £949 pp including accommodation in a boutique hostel room, eight hoursâ?? dance lessons, participation in Make Favela Art, Christmas BBQ party, New Year party at the legendary Copacabana Beach, attendance at a Rio Samba School rehearsal and the services of an expert local guide. www.jingandoholidays.com
