11. Is Air Conditioning really necessary in the UK? We managed in the past without it

New fridges use about one third of the electricity compared to a ten year old fridge!
when not at home, lower the thermostat by 5 degrees and use a timer so that the temperature goes back up half hour before you come home

keep your automobile properly tuned as this can save you about 25% on fuel
properly inflated tires also help to save on fuel not to mention prevent premature wear on your tires
