Cancer Research UK has teamed up with MySpace to launch a nationwide t-shirt design competition to unearth emerging design talent. Launched exclusively on MySpace at www.myspace.com/tshirtdesigncompetition, the competition will call for entries from the hottest young design talent across the UK from 20 October.Budding print and graphic designers, daring fashionistas or anyone with a great idea for a motif can submit their entries via the MySpace website. The winning design will then be sold next year in Cancer Research UKâ??s online store and high street shops to raise money for breast cancer awareness.Designs will need to communicate the spirit of breast cancer awareness - solidarity, hope, spreading the word â?? or any other message the designer feels gets across the importance of raising money and awareness for breast cancer. A judging panel will shortlist the entries and the final winner will be chosen by MySpace users.Twenty-one-year-old designer and entrepreneur Paul Griffiths is among those on the competition judging panel. He started off small by setting up his own clothing line, Babycakes, which has become a celebrated cult brand among kids in the know. Babycakes is growing everyday, with a brand-new Manchester Babycakes store and Babycakes Records the most recent additions. Paulâ??s Babycakes parties are fast becoming things of legend, feverishly discussed and promoted on social networking spaces.Paul said: â??I really want to urge young people to get behind this competition and send in all kinds of designs. Think super-bright colours, sharp designs â?? the kind of thing youâ??d really want to wear that shouts about the spirit of the charityâ??s campaign. Babycakes began as my bedroom project, my own personal escape from the mundane, and has now become a place for kids world wide to sparkle. If I can do it, I hope it inspires other people to do it for this important cause.â??
